How can one engender learning? This proposal for a science, technology, engineering, and math educational center investigates how the bar building can be re-imagined to this purpose. The circulation core runs perpendicular to the bars of the building, pushing the programmatic spaces to the periphery. This move additionally creates intentional spaces for students to interact outside of labs and classrooms, learning by exploring and sharing knowledge with each other in a collaborative way, rather than simply attempting to absorb whatever a teacher has to say.
